Award-Winning Wild Leap Slated To Open Atlanta Taproom This December
LaGrange-based craft beverage company brings beers, wine and spirits to Centennial Yards
Hailing from LaGrange, Ga., Wild Leap announces the highly-anticipated opening timeline of their Atlanta taproom in the transformational 50-acre, $5 Billion Centennial Yards development in Downtown Atlanta. The award-winning craft beverage company will bring its beloved beers, wine and spirits along with unique food offerings to the multi-level, 15,340 square-foot space before the end of the year.
“We’ve had our eyes set on Atlanta for a while now, and when presented with this opportunity to activate this memorable building, we felt the need to jump on it due to the size and scope of the Centennial Yards vision,” said Rob Goldstein, co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer. “When choosing spaces to open our taprooms, we’ve made a commitment to revitalizing historic areas. For our LaGrange taproom, we renovated a 1940s auto building and we’re excited to follow a similar suit with this project.”
ASD|SKY provided full architecture, interior and lighting design, and environmental graphic design services for Wild Leap’s new Atlanta taproom. Inspired by Atlanta’s storied railroad past, the new location is a dynamic space juxtaposing historic elements with a modern architectural aesthetic. Encompassing 15,340 square-feet and multi-level, the brewery and taproom respect the building’s architecture and history while infusing the space with greenery, pops of color, and wood accents. The ceiling is detailed in a way that references a decommissioned, overgrown railway, and vintage furniture and lighting furthers these goals. Mural art and design surprises throughout the space harken to the building’s original architecture, include an abandoned brick elevator chase, building awnings, and branded stamps from the original steel union that constructed the building in 1912.
The lower level opens to the ‘Canyon,’ a unique subterranean retail experience resulting from Atlanta’s iconic raised viaduct system constructed in 1923, to separate pedestrians and cars from trains throughout Downtown. The Canyon offers 740 linear feet of continuous retail space, of which Wild Leap’s outdoor patios are a key component, connecting all the tenants of the historic Southern Railways buildings, including residents in the Lofts at Centennial Yards South.
The ground level is anchored by a central bar that’s wrapped by a monumental stair connecting guests to the second level. As guests move vertically through the brewery, spaces become more intimate including a speakeasy with a hidden entry.
To complement their renowned beverages, Wild Leap will provide guests with a unique food offering with a menu ranging from twists on classic handhelds, shareable appetizers along with sweet old-school treats.
“We see this being the perfect destination for Atlanta natives, sport fans and travelers alike,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Rodriguez. “We look forward to creating an eclectic environment that will offer something for everyone to enjoy whether it comes from our full bar or food offerings. Wild Leap is a craft beverage company that helps consumers discover the perfect drink so they can toast to their own passions.”
Since the brand’s inception five years ago, Wild Leap has expanded from a small-town brewery to a full craft beverage company with diverse offerings, such as beers, spirits, ready-to-drink cocktails and wine. With over 50 awards and recognitions since 2017, Wild Leap has earned highly respected awards within the industry, including Beer Connoisseur’s Brewery of the Year, San Francisco World Spirits Competition, USA TODAY’s Best New Brewery, American Distiller Institute International Spirits Awards, Georgia Craft Brewer’s Guide, U.S. Open Beer Championship to name a few.
Conveniently located at 125 Ted Turner Drive, Wild Leap will be just steps from both Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena and a six-minute walk from Garnett MARTA station. Wild Leap will be joining the revitalization project of Downtown Atlanta, where retail shops, offices and more are bringing unique vibrancy to the historic area.
